Ideation Process

I scanned some of our sketches for the game. We missed the start of the jam, but we were able to sit down on Sunday afternoon and think about what we wanted to do.
Here was the general flow of ideation.
- Decide we wanted to do an arcade game or something focused on action.
- List classic games that come to mind when thinking of the word CONSUME. We listed:
- We decided to riff off of SNAKE. I had recently done some verlet rope physics in another project (swinging from hanging lights) and I thought it would be fun to move the snake like a rope.
- Immediately a hungry sea serpent came to mind and I started my sketch of sailors throwing harpoons at a monster.
- We did a prototype which felt quite fun to control, and then we refined the monster into something very close to the final jam release.
